'Necessity is the mother of invention'
Good Point.
These movie is not only adorable but fun to watch. Flint Lockwood is a would be inventor who tries to invent things to solve problems. As a child, he invented spray on shoes to aid in the 'un-tied shoelace problem' only fault was they cannot be removed...ever. So when his little island of Swallows Falls is faced with eatting only sardines. (Island was originally home to a sardine factory that closed when the world discovered that sardines are 'super gross') Flint decides to make a machine that turns water into food.
The people of the town suddenly realize that Flint is not the loser nerd that they made him out to be all his life. Problem is people are now demanding different food and larger portions. I don't have to tell you that something goes wrong because you could figure that out.
The film not only helps kids understand things like greed, the need for originality, parental love and not to mention gluttony; but is also really funny.
I would highly recommend this movie especially if you have children...or at least were one yourself.
YAY!

Hmmm, I think I might watch this one anyway (The "anyway" being: I never had kids nor was I ever one. It's an interesting story actually. I was once a mannequin, really two of them that got superheated and sort of melted together. Somebody said "That's just wrong." so I got to come to life and may someday be retired to a basement or maybe even put into the Smithsonian attic.
And sardines are pretty good, especially with mustard, and more especially if you're a cat. As for this review - I think the title is good enough even without a movie. It prompts the age old question: Why does some other place always have better weather?
